Award-winning photographer Claire Fraser has spent more than two decades viewing life through her camera lens. From daily newspaper photography through to high-class fashion events and family portraits, she has learned how to capture those memorable moments and knows how to think on her feet.
Claire graduated with honours from Massey University School of Design, New Zealand, in 2001 with a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Photography. She then spent eight years working for New Zealand newspapers the Dominion Post and the Bay of Plenty Times. Here she gained invaluable experience learning how to direct people and work to tight deadlines – skills which help her work her magic in many situations today.
Since moving to Hong Kong in 2011, Claire has worked extensively in school photography, family portraiture and commercial photography. She also specialises in maternity and newborn photoshoots, and business portraits for those who require professional or corporate images.
As a mum-of-two, Claire has seen children at their best and worst – and knows they rarely perform when you want them to! She has years’ of experience gently coaxing even the most camera-shy of kids into relaxing at photo shoots. Her goal is to capture the happiest moments as your family interacts, and she prefers natural, uncontrived poses to more formal set-ups. Conveying the love, laughter and joy a family shares is what Claire strives to achieve in every photograph. Recording those moments in time is a special experience and the results are beautiful images which clients can cherish forever.
